About California Proposition 65

As required by the state of California, we include a Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”) warning on the product package. It's applied only to products sold in the state of California. Prop 65 requires businesses to issue “clear and reasonable” warnings about potentially significant exposures to certain chemicals that California has determined cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The Prop 65 list includes over 900 chemicals and substances that may be found in many consumer products. In order to avoid the warning, a manufacturer must test its products for all of the over 900 Prop 65 chemicals to verify that none of them are present in concentrations above safe levels. This testing is prohibitively expensive for self-employed like WARMTHON. Our Products uses Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic. This compound itself is NOT included on the Prop 65 list, is stable, and does not leach, but some of the chemicals that make up ABS are listed individually. In some cases, the finished compound plastic may contain low levels of each chemical, which may or may not be above the threshold requiring a Prop 65 warning. Since testing the concentration of ABS components in our products are prohibitively expensive, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to adopt the Prop 65 warning to avoid possibly having an improperly marked product sold in California.
